I chuckled after I wrote the title just because I guess it was more than a minute. This is a good thing it means I was participating in it and enjoying all the good stuff that comes with life.
So let’s see all sorts of stuff filled the last couple of weeks along with our usual weekly agenda we had two big things to fill our time too.
First we traveled to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg so my son could attend his senior prom. What you say, home-schoolers have a prom and actually socialize? =D
The next wonderful event for us was Relay for Life – Fredericksburg. This is an event that is near and dear to my families heart. We always walk in memory of my Mom, the most beautiful Margaret whom I treasured and have missed each and every day of the last 11 years. She lost her very short battle with Ovarian Cancer in January 2001. I am so thankful to wonderful friends who introduced me to this wonderful event it gave our family a way to be proactive in the trek to find a cure and it helped us celebrate Margaret and just honor her.
My beautiful mother. |
This years Relay for Life brought us a new dimension as we walked with my awesome and beautiful friend who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer January 2012. She is a survivor and I was so honored to walk with her and witness her process. I am beyond motivated and excited to dive in preparation for next years Relay. I will be asking my friend if she would like to share a link to her blog so you can meet her there. It was a wonderful day and night with a great group of friends, love spending time with all their smiling faces. A big thank you to all of our children who walked and walked and then walked some more. WOW!
Now my pitch, if you have not heard of Relay for Life and want to learn more or find an event to join click here for more information. Want to join our team here in Fredericksburg send me your email address and as soon as we get started for 2013 I will send you the link to join.
Catch up more tomorrow.
Peace.
