A Wonderful Vacation..

We arrived in Buffalo on Wednesday, a bit too early to check in and decided that we should just head to Niagara Falls for the early afternoon.  This was the day we decided to walk across the Rainbow Bridge.  What a great decision, the view was stunning and Niagara Falls on the Canadian side was busy and bustling with people.   Crossing the bridge you quickly got an amazing view of the falls,

It was exhilarating.

We had a mini snack at The Hard Rock Cafe and discovered Canadian Poutine, oh my yummy.  Can’t wait to find a recipe so I can make this at home.

We enjoyed a beautiful walk along the falls so we could view them from the Canadian side, I had heard that this view should not be missed.  We were not disappointed.

We finished this lovely day with some snacks and beverages at our hotel (mine included a nice red wine and a Sangria, which quickly put me to sleep, lol).

Thursday brought us back up to Niagara, NY and an adventure to the Cave of the Winds.  If you can do only one thing while there, this is it!  The view is unbelievable and the sound is awesome, even on this chilly day we did not freeze and for the most part stayed dry.  Just our pants legs got a bit damp but oh so worth it, I promise.

Getting our gear on, which included being barefoot in a sandal they provide.

An amazing view

My husband enjoying the falls.

Daniel heading up closer to the falls.

My children wishing I would hurry up and take the photo so they don’t get drenched.
 Rainbows are abundant.

 Up close and personal.

Our next stop was the Aquarium, a nice little visit with some sea life.

Nemo (can you find him?)

A lovely day, topped off with a walk around town (nothing really on the US side but we found a Starbucks to sit for a bit and warm up with a coffee).

We returned to Buffalo and decided it was time to get some buffalo wings from the original spot – Anchor Bar.  Another yummy moment, topped off with cheese cake and cannoli’s.

Early Friday morning we headed to Pittsburgh.  We enjoyed lunch at Primanti Bros. another yummy moment, great enviroment, busy, friendly, quick and did I mention yummy.  We enjoyed a walk down the strip and found a few goodies to take home including homemade biscotti, mmmmmm.

Coming home was tough, I so enjoyed the time together without all the distractions of home.

Peace, Love and Happiness.
