Back a couple of weeks ago my husband heard a segment about MicroGreens and benefits of eating them. So of course we began researching and reading and did not find any information to deter us from trying these out. WOW! Amazing and wonderful all in a tiny package. We went to our local farmers market and happened along a smaller organic farmer who also had microgreens for sale, we picked the Mircromix, 1 pint for $3.50. This little pack has lasted the week of adding them to our salad a couple of nights and packed 3 lunches with these replacing sprouts in the sandwich pocket and us picking at them randomly just to taste them again. These are delicious and I won’t ever again go without Microgreens. If you are local in Fredericksburg I recommend stopping by the Route 3/Gordon Road farmers market and locating Glenburnie Farm Produce Co. and picking up a pack to try.
You can learn more about Microgreens here.
My next step of course will be to attempt to grow some of these myself. Check out these spots for how to grow your own Microgreens. Grow your Own Microgreens at Home, Weekend Gardener and Freestyle Farm. Freestyle farm is probably my favorite of the several that I scanned through. I can’t wait to start growing something during the winter months right in my kitchen.
